6. Act to counteract your negative thoughts!
The more you get into negative thoughts, the worse the fear will be. Because you are wasting valuable energy into the negative images, which you can certainly use more sensibly.
Before you have used up all your energy, you should step on the gas and switch to the fast lane so that you don't invest even more energy in bad thoughts and conjure up terrible scenarios. This does not mean that you should consciously expose yourself to danger. Rather, it means that you should keep your thoughts to a minimum and ask yourself whether the situation poses a danger. Then you take the step forward:
â Talk to the extremely interesting people you meet at the conference without having to think 1000 thoughts about how to start the conversation. There is no right or wrong! The only thing that can happen is that the selected person is not interested in talking to you.
â Visit a karaoke bar, go on stage and grab the microphone before negative thoughts arise in your head and you think about how the audience might react to your performance.
If a situation arises, you should not brood, but immediately take courageous action and become active. This will prevent negative thoughts from arising in the first place.
7. Feel the pain of negative feelings with every fiber of your body!
Fear is not a nice feeling. We all agree on that. But what alternatives are there to counteract this feeling and the pain? Your fear is so great that it prevents you from trying out new ways and thinking outside the box. Face your fear and feel the pain. You can do this by imagining how your life will go if you do not face your fear and negative thoughts. Try to feel the feelings and sensations correctly. Keep yourself in mind,
⥠what your fear is making you miss,
⥠what experience is withheld from you
⥠what restrictions on the quality of life you have to put up with?
You will see that this is not a pretty picture!
Now imagine in your thoughts how happy and relaxed your life will be when you finally let go of your negative thoughts. Produce pictures and show yourself how much joy you will have in life without fear. You will realize that without fear you can finally set new goals and realize them. You have the potential within you to start into a happy, contented, and relaxed life.
